BUYING A TICKET

The process to buy tickets on the ‘NAVIERA ARMAS’ web site follows very simple rules that we summarise below:

Selecting the route details: :

The process can be started on the main page and also on the 'Buy a Ticket' tab.
Select the route you wish to travel, the date (and the return date, if applicable) and the accommodation you want on board.
If there is only one type of accommodation available, it will be selected automatically.
If you wish different types of accommodation on the departure and return, you can select them on the ‘Buy a Ticket’ page only (not on the main page).
Select the type of vehicle (leave empty if not travelling with a vehicle).
Finally, state the number of people who are going to travel and remember that you cannot select more than 5 (adults and children) per ticket.
If you are not sure of the date you want to travel, you can click on the ‘Flexible on dates’ box so the search results provide several options.

Selecting the route and fare:

A table will be displayed with the different times available and the price of each one according to the stated fare.
In order to proceed, select the date of departure you wish (and return if applicable), the residence discount and the fare you want (see the conditions below).
If there are departures in the list that cannot be selected, it means that there is no availability on that route.
For return tickets, the selected fare will apply both ways.

Price of the requested vehicle:

The price that appears on each line is the total price for passengers and vehicles for the selected route (one way or return) for the fare stated in the column.
In the lower part, once you have selected the requested routes, the total price of the ticket (return included) will appear for the total number of passengers and vehicles for that fare.

Inserting data:

After confirming the route and fare you must state the personal details of the travellers on the ticket, taking into account the condition of resident and that it is mandatory to insert the identity card number (Spanish Identity Card or Foreign Residence Permit for non-nationals).
If there is an error in the data or the temporary availability is affected during the purchasing process, the system will inform you of the error, and you will have to start the purchasing process again.

Paying for the ticket:

In order to finish the process you must pay for the ticket with your credit card.
The payment process is carried out with our bank. This operation will be carried out under the highest security measures and following current regulations.
If the payment is denied, it is the bank that carries out this operation and verification. NAVIERA ARMAS does not act as an active agent in this process.
In order to provide the best service, NAVIERA ARMAS would like to remind you that you must insert the payment details exactly as they appear on your credit card because these details will be used to retrieve your ticket on the web site.

Printing the ticket:

After the payment process, the ticket will be shown on the screen and it can be printed easily with the button.
If you are not able to print your ticket, take note of the ticket number that appears on the screen and take it to the offices in order to issue your boarding card.

Printing boarding cards – AUTO CHECK-IN ONLINE

NAVIERA ARMAS has started up the new AUTO CHECK-IN with which to obtain boarding cards without queues at the port. With these you will be able to board without having to go to the desk.
This service is available for all our routes.
Only valid for passengers with seat accommodation (not valid for cabins).
For tickets with residence discount, you will only be able to retrieve your electronic boarding card if your identity card has been digitalised and is active on our system. It includes ‘Armas Style’ cardholders.
No refunds or change of date will be possible once the boarding card has been printed, until after departure.
Boarding cards must be printed on DIN-A4 paper.

ROUTE AVAILABILITY

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED TO TRAVEL

RESIDENCE IN THE CANARY ISLANDS / MELILLA

It is essential to prove residence in the Canary Islands and in Melilla in order to enjoy the corresponding discount.

Article 1 - Scope of Application:

The right to discounts for air and sea travel is unaltered only for Spanish citizens and from other EU member states (Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom), or of other states that have signed the European Economic Area agreement (currently Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein) and Switzerland, who prove they are residents in the Autonomous Region of the Canary Islands and the Autonomous City of Melilla.

For this, and in accordance with the Decree Law 1316/2001 on discounts for residents, the following will be valid for proving residence before the shipping company:

The original and valid Spanish National Identity Card
Or for other EU member states or the countries that have signed the European Economic Area agreement, the valid Registration Certificate issued by the Central Register of Foreign Nationals (in accordance with the Royal Decree 1340/2007, which modifies the Royal Decree 1316/2001, replacing the Residents’ Card with the Register Certificate as the document certifying residence, which must be presented together with the original and valid National Identity Card or passport).

MINORS must prove their residence in the same way as stated above (Identity Card or Registration Certificate). Spaniards under 14 who do not have an Identity Card must present the original or photocopied Residence Certificate from the Town Hall, which must show their date of birth, and this will be included on the ticket instead of the Identity Card.

Article 5 - Responsibilities of the Beneficiary.

Anyone who travels with a discount ticket must carry the document that proves their residence at all times, in accordance with the aforementioned, and the valid IDENTITY CARD or PASSPORT, to prove their identity.
When a passenger who travels with a discount ticket is not able to prove their identity or residence upon request of the shipping company, or if the data are not the same as on the ticket, the passenger will not be able to travel with said ticket.

BOARDING OF MINORS

Accompanied minors:

We establish a difference between:

Minors travelling with their father, mother or guardian: minors travelling with their father, mother or guardian must hand in a photocopy of their Valid IDENTITY CARD, SPANISH FAMILY RECORD BOOK or the PASSPORT as well as the original document, as set out in the RD 1316/2001 – CHAPTER 3 – ARTICLE 10 – ISSUING A MARITIME TRAVEL TICKET.
Minors travelling with a person who is not their father, mother or guardian: minors travelling with an adult who is not their father, mother or guardian must provide an authorisation by the father, mother or guardian with the photocopy of their identity card, as well as the documents mentioned in the previous section.

Unaccompanied minors:

An unaccompanied minor is someone aged between 14 and 18 who travels alone. To travel they require the authorisation of their father, mother or legal guardian. Except on the Madeira lines (Funchal), the Algarve (Portimao) and Huelva where they cannot travel unaccompanied.

* There are special conditions for the PLAYA BLANCA > CORRALEJO line.

Minors aged between 5 and 14 must always travel accompanied by an adult aged over 18. They must also have the documentation stated previously, a copy of the DNI (Spanish ID card) to accompany the ticket as well as the authorisation of their father, mother or legal guardian whenever they travel with anyone else other than the latter.

The following things must be taken into account:

The person accompanying the minor must sign a disclaimer statement which authorises the minor to travel and Naviera Armas will not be responsible during transport.
Upon arrival at the destination the minor must be handed over to the person mentioned in the unaccompanied minors form, and shall not be handed over to any other person. Under no circumstance the minor will be collected by taxi and/or bus.

The tickets you wish to purchase on the web site for minors residing in the Canary Islands must show their identity card number.

If you wish to prove that the minor lives in the Canary Islands with a certificate, you must call our Call Centre 902 456 500 or come to one of our points of sale.

If you wish to purchase the minor's ticket on the web site, you can do it with a new ticket without the residence discount.

If travelling with minors, you must also present the Spanish family record book that proves you are the guardian. The Spanish family record book does not prove residence in the Canary Islands.
